Provider compatibility and PSL
Understand delegated zones, Public Suffix List limitations, and hosting verification.
Current PSL status
As checked on October 29, 2026, isroot.in is not listed in the Public Suffix List. The list helps software identify boundaries between independently registered sites. It does not create DNS records or enable DNS delegation.
An isroot registration gives you control of a delegated zone such as myproject.isroot.in. It does not give you control of isroot.in, and it is not a separately registered domain at a registrar.
What this changes
- A provider may treat your address as a subdomain of
isroot.in, even though it is the root of your DNS zone. - Some DNS providers accept delegated subdomain zones; others require a registrable domain or a special plan.
- A host may ask for verification at a parent-level name you cannot edit. Changing nameservers does not give you control of the parent.
- Provider acceptance, certificate issuance, and shared-domain limits can still affect setup. DNS instructions alone cannot guarantee acceptance.
The CNAME restriction at @ comes from the NS and SOA records required at a DNS zone root. Adding isroot.in to the PSL would not remove that restriction. See DNS record reference.
Choose a practical setup
Use default isroot DNS when your host supplies A/AAAA records for your root, or use a CNAME at a child name such as www or app. See the GitHub Pages, Vercel, Render, and Railway instructions.
For an external provider, first confirm that it can create the exact zone myproject.isroot.in, without requiring ownership of isroot.in. If your host only supplies a hostname for the root, also confirm apex flattening or dynamic ALIAS support. These are separate requirements. See Nameservers.
Parent-domain verification
Only add verification records inside your registration. For example, _verify.myproject.isroot.in becomes _verify in the isroot editor, while _verify.isroot.in is outside your control. Do not remove the parent suffix and silently create a different name.
If a host requests a record outside your zone, send the complete name, record type, value, and provider error to support. Support must review whether the request is appropriate; parent-domain access or approval is not promised.
Cookies for applications
Because isroot.in is not a public suffix, PSL-based software can group sibling isroot registrations under the same site. Use host-only session cookies, preferably with the __Host- prefix where applicable; do not set a cookie's Domain to isroot.in. Applications should validate request origins and implement CSRF protection instead of relying only on SameSite cookies to separate sibling registrations. See the PSL's explanation and MDN's cookie guidance.
Status of these guides
Provider instructions are based on the linked official documentation. They are not live account-by-account compatibility tests. Use your provider's current dashboard values and report acceptance or verification problems to support.
